Hi I am trying to connect to the RN-42 bluetooth module, but it doesn't show in my discovered devices on my mac when I have connected ground and VDD 3.3v.

The datasheet is here:
http://www.rovingnetworks.com/documents/rn-42-ds.pdf

Does anyone have any ideas of why this is?

Cheers.

these things are finicky.  i have this one http://www.sparkfun.com/products/158 you may have to reset the device to factory defaults.  one of mine came set as master when they need to be slave or switch to connect to your computer.  also windows xp was not as easy to connect to this as W7 was.  it took alot more than just turning it on in xp.

also make sure to short RTS to CTS.  its not always needed but it might help if the Mac is trying to talk with those as well.
