Feasibility anyone?

My idea: low pass filter to pass only bass frequencies. Feed this into a preamp then a simple low bandwidth FFT...

Anyone already done this or have any suggestions on where to begin?

The end application is to control some RGB high power LEDs for music lighting affects.

 Check on the link:

Code give you 31 band, if you need bass only, 3 - 5 band in the beginning
65 Hz each will do a job.
