Hello,

I am making a board for controlling an RGB matrix.

It`s a Common Anode matrix.


Now i have two questions:

-I want to use 3 595`s to sink current, is that possible?

-I am looking for an SMD fet i can source current with.

The choice is so big i don`t know what to use.

Should be.

You want a P-channel logic FET.

Sort them by price and pick the lowest price one.

But in the datasheet it says things like: Vds -20V

Will they work?

So if that is how much the drain / source will take before it breaks down you are fine. The negative sign means voltage relative to the source, which in a P-channel FET is sitting up at the +5V level, so 0V will be like -5V to the FET, therefore you are well within the range of allowable voltages. The gate threshold should have a -ve value as well.
