Topic: ESP8266 - Red led not turning on when biased (Read 165 times) previous topic - next topic

Hi,
I have an ESP8266 (model ESP-01). It has worked well for a little bit. Yesterday I tried to power it again after few weeks of not using it. I wired it according to instructions. When I turn on the 3.3V bias, the red led goes on for a very short amount of time, and then it goes off. There is no way to communicate with it via Arduino+Serial.
(I have another identical ESP-01, and when I bias it in the same way it works fine, so it's not a problem of biasing and wiring)

Do you think that there is any hope to bring it back to life? Or should I give up?

Confused by what you mean by "turn on the 3.3V bias".

Sorry for the confusion, what I meant is that I first connect the VCC and the CH_PD of the ESP to the 3.3 V pin of a voltage supplier, then  i plug the ground of the ESP to the ground of the supplier, and then I turn on the supplier.

I just wanted to specify that the red led quicky turn on and off at the moment that I turn on the bias.

The red LED should stay on always whenever power is applied.
On my ESP-01 modules, the red LED is between VCC and GND.
