Buongiorno, premetto che sono nuovo del forum e mi complimento con l'inventore di arduino: vorrei controllare due arduino con ethernet. Vorrei sapere se è possibile programmarli in modo che uno faccia da input analogico e l'altro da output analogico: il tutto dovrebbe funzionare su rete lan ma senza pc acceso; in particolare devo utilizzare arduino per far arrivare un segnale (cicalino) alla presa lan di casa  quando mi suona l'allarme della rimessa dove ho connessione di rete . Sono un neofita della programmazione: potreste darmi qualche dritta? Grazie in anticipo, Fabio

Hello, I state that are new to the forum and I congratulate the inventor of arduino: I would check two arduino with ethernet. Let me know if you can program them so that one face and one analog input to analog output: everything should work on LAN but not on PC, in particular I have to use arduino to get a signal (buzzer) to the LAN me home when the alarm sounds in the garage where I have network connection. The system you want to make is very well possible but not trivial as netwerk programming has a learning curve.

Your project in a (ascii) picture

SENSOR -> ARDUINO -> ETHERNETSHIELD  --------------- ethernet --------------------- ETHERNETSHIELD -> ARDUINO -> BUZZER

Some questions come up:
Q1: what sensor do you want to use?
Q2: do you have ethernet in your garage or do you intent to go wireless?

Advise: take a week (or two) to go through the examples on the reference and tutorial section as 90% of the code is there. Depending on the sensor there might be code on the playground or the forum and you can search for that in the upper right corner.

Q1: cosa fare del sensore che si desidera utilizzare?
Q2: avete ethernet nel vostro garage o hai intenzione di passare al wireless?

Consiglio: prendere una settimana (o due) per passare attraverso gli esempi sul riferimento e la sezione tutorial del 90% del codice è lì. A seconda del sensore ci potrebbe essere il codice nel parco giochi o il forum e si può cercare che in alto a destra.

Grazie per la risposta Rob:
1) ho il cavo ethernet in garage;
2) vorrei utilizzare un interruttore come segnale ingresso su arduino;

In questo modo quando la mia centrale mi segnala un allarme mi "chiude" il contatto ed arduino manda il segnale tramite il cavo ethernet all'altro arduino che mi fa "suonare" il buzzer.

Il progetto è abbastanza semplice ma mi servirebbe una mano nella programmazione delle due schede. Grazie, a presto.

 1) I have the ethernet cable in the garage;
 2) I would use a switch as signal input to Arduino;

 In this way when my alarm central tells me I "close" contact and arduino sends the signal through the Ethernet cable to another arduino that I am "playing"the buzzer.

 The project is quite simple but I need a hand in the programming of the two boards. Thank you, see you soon.
