I may be a bit paranoid, but I am concerned by the rash of pleas for help with projects that want to control RC airplanes or drones at an extend distance. Way beyond visual range. And some are obviously from people in the Middle East.

Am I alone in this concern?

I don't know why one area of the world might matter more than another.

The drones that we should worry about are being flown by military institutions that don't need our advice.

We have several drone test ranges in Eastern Oregon state. One not very many miles from where I am. I know the safety protocols are quite rigid and are rigorously enforced. The Arduino drone testing has none of this and who know where there is a remote area the OP is testing.

I dont know.  But I bet if we did a regional study of home-made explosive devices one region would stand out as a significant outlier.

I wonder why? Perhaps someone is upsetting them?

Malta?  They've got quite the cottage fireworks thing going, I hear...
Then there's the Thais, who've been known to go a bit wild with their rocket-like things.

And there are the countries that spend many billions of dollars per year manufacturing professional explosive devices, and selling them to pretty much anyone...  :-(

Nevertheless, I won't be responding to any requests for help making "countdown timers for an airsoft fake device"...

I've . . . trimmed a few posts. The thread was taking a very unpleasant turn.

I don't like censoring the bar, but this went a little too far.

Please, play nicely.

Thank you.

I was going to complain.

You tell that to someone who likely remembers when the IRA was rather active.

You might want to review the selection settings on your outrage and perhaps widen your news sources.

Are they still bombing regularly in Ireland?  I haven't heard of anything blowing up there for a good while.  Or maybe you need to renew your newspaper subscription.  Lots of stuff going down since that edition from 1983 that you're still reading.  I was under the impression that had mostly cooled off.

No, last I remember it was bad was in the 70's but the same shit happened on a different day and it wasn't the same people.

Targeting a whole demographic on the actions of a few and whatever shit can be added is Bigot 101. That's the sorry part.

Oh not trying to label a whole demographic, just the individuals doing shady things in places where shady things are happening.  If I heard a guy with an Irish accent in the 70's I wouldn't think he was a bomber.  But if I saw a guy in the 70's with an Irish accent buying gunpowder and screws and a short piece of pipe I might notice that.

How about an American guy with a red baseball hat in 2018 doing the same thing?
