Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

OK newbie question - I am just trying to wire up a Zilog ePIR sensor in HARDWARE MODE (not serial mode) to bench test it - just to see if
it will signal (pin 5 should go to 0v) if I wave my hand in front of it. It's on a bench with a fluoescent light on it. No other
light in the room. Cannot get this thing to have pin 5 go low - it stays high all the time the unit has power to it on pin 2.

Here is the datasheet :
http://www.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Sensors/Proximity/SEN-09587-PS0284.pdf

Figure 12 has a wiring diagram.  Table 1 page 8 has the pins and how they should be connected.

Here's how I have it wired :

Pin 1 : straight to ground
Pin 2 : to 3.3v (checked with meter)
Pin 3 : tried straight to ground and thru a 200k resistor to ground
Pin 4: tried straight to ground and thru a 200k resistor to ground
Pin 5 : --> the signal wire     this ALWAYS shows 3.3v on my meter
Pin 6 : tried straight to 3.3v and thru a 200k resistor to 3.3v
Pin 7 : tried straight to 3.3v and thru a 200k resistor to 3.3v
Pin 8 : straight to ground

According to the datasheet :
a) if pin 6 is not used it should be hooked up to 3.3v
b) when the ePIR is turned on, Pin 7 must have 3.3v to it or it enters sleep mode

to add : using 200k resistors because I dont have any 100's lying around. Can this be an issue ?

Any specific suggestions about what might be wrong is appreciated.

Thx

Do you have an Arduino Mega? If so, try this library:http://code.google.com/p/epir-library-v1/downloads/list

I wired the EPIR just as you listed above, but I didn't use any resistors tied to ground. It works like a champ.
