I am having problems with my project and I know it is not the code.  Is there a way to see if the shield is the problem without getting a new one?

Please explain exactly what the problem is.

I put this project away a year ago and it was working.  I have checked the outputs and the inputs with a different Arduino and they work fine.  The Arduino is getting power.  I am looking to see if the shield is the issue without having to get a new one.

Maybe it will help if you tell us which shield?
Maybe it will help if you tell us what the problem is?

Have you tried to run your code on the other Arduino? What were the results?
If you understand an example, use it.
If you don't understand an example, don't use it.
