Hi I'm new to using micro controllers. I've built a breadboard arduino with an atmega328p and a dapa parallel programmer. I was in the middle of uploading a sketch when a stray wire bumped into the programmer interrupting it. Now I can't get the chip to respond. Here is the output from avrdude.

I've been looking for a good diy high voltage programmers. Not too much out on the net for the atmega series seems like most are designed for the attinys. This one looks promising http://mightyohm.com/blog/2008/09/arduino-based-avr-high-voltage-programmer/ but the sketch seems to only reset fuses doesn't do a full erase. A newer version of his board does, but it also takes a lot more components that I don't have readily available. I might try building it on a breadboard and seeing if I can change the sketch to do a full erase, but wanted to ask if anyone has a suggestion on a quick basic easy design that can do a full erase? I'm not familiar with setting fuses or doing a full erase yet. Is there a good source of information I should read about how the high voltage erase process works before attempting all this?

Hello dude
You must try to burn the firmware on it again
It already happen to me trying some crazy sketchs and them the atmega gets stuck and never more alow uploads
Use this tuturial
I have used it alots of times on arduino Duemilanove with atmega 328P

Yes, that works nicely.
There's a few steps involved in getting it setup: downloading, unzipping, moving files, and adding the pins to your duemilanove.
I have one set up now  and have loaded bootloaders onto blank parts from mouser.com

If the OP does not have a duemilanove, then I Think this board
http://store.yahoo.com/yhst-27389313707334/ftusbtouabrb.html (access is blocked for me at work)
breaks out the needed signals from the FTDI chip so that a atmega328 on a breadboard could be programmed as if it were a duemilanove. Check the duemilanove schematic against this one to be sure.

Or just geta duemilanove and set it up to use a programmer.
