Topic: Is this good? (Easy Driver 4.4) (Read 2055 times) previous topic - next topic

Im fairly new to electronics and microcontrollers.

Yesterday i got my EasyDriver v4.4 and hooked it up to my Arduino Duemilanove,
following the wireing from (http://danthompsonsblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/easydriver-42-tutorial.html)
connected http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9238
Got hold of a modified sketch from the forum. (Thanks BigRedSparks)

Got the stepper running nice with no problems.

However when i disconnect the arduino power and leave the stepper power in, it still powers the arduino...
Is this good for it?

Thanks up front :)

Probably not!  You are powering the chip via the signal pins somehow - though I'm not entirely sure how as they should all be inputs to the EasyDriver...
