I just bought this sensor :
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150570236665&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT

Could someone tell me how to wire this thing up as it has 5 pins and not 3.

And could you give me some test code to run with this...

Thanks a lot

I don't think you connected the grounds, Dave.

Didn't it come with a datasheet?
That could be an expensive cheap sensor.

You could try wiring like an SRF04, which it resembles.
Otherwise, nope on help.

Ya I have wired it up but dont know where the Echo pulse output and trigger pulse input go because in many tutorial these ultrasonic sensors only have 3 pins 1 to - 1 to + and I to arduino. But now if I connect 2 to arduino is the code going to be different if yes what is the test code going to be...
Thanks

The SRF04 has five pins, which is why I mentioned it.

I could not understand the schematic. Could you just give me some tips on how to write a program that with read the input from the sensor and echo the output to the screen where I can see it...Please as I really cannot understand a thing when I see the schematic, I just think its too complicated for a 13 year old like me

http://www.robot-electronics.co.uk/htm/srf04tech.htm

You could try googling SRF04 and Arduino.

BTW, the spec on the eBay page said the device was IP65 rated.
I hope you're not depending on that.

If you don't know then you're probably not concerned.

It's an enironmental sealing rating - it is supposed to be proof against dust and directed spray.
I doubt very much that it is.
