Hi guys

i bought these sensors:
http://www.emmeshop.it/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=190_191&products_id=3602
unfortunately on the website there isn't a datasheet and i think i cannot connect directly pins fomr sensors to arduino..

actually i've used parallax ping))) to create a parking sensor...and it works..but parallax ping))) are not waterproof...so
do you have an idea to use the WP sensor i bought? do you have a tutorial to build some type of breakout board to use them?
thanks
regards

I don't think you connected the grounds, Dave.

If they're 40kHz devices, I'd probably buy something like an SRF04, unsolder the transducers fitted and solder in some short flying leads to these devices.
Ultrasound from scratch isn't easy, unless you have access to an oscilloscope and some amplifier skills.

hey AWOL, have you ever tried it before? do you know what can it result? the reached range change? how do you calculate the distance, you must know the sound velocity on this medium, isn't it?

Are you trying to use them in water?

Around 1500m/s, off the top of my head.
Different for salt and fresh water.

If I had no other way of finding out, that's what I'd do.

Depends how much you can afford.
