I have a project that needs the webcam to "take a picture" when an object is sensed by the proximity sensor. Obviously, the webcam is connected to the desktop/laptop for image viewing and photo saving. The proximity sensor has a low output when an object is within its range. How can I do this with arduino as the microcontroller? THANKS!

What normally triggers the webcam to take a picture?  Is there a button on the webcam?  Do you have to produce a key press or mouse click on the PC?
