Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

Hi there,
I've been using an Arduino Duemilanove since I started with Arduino. Now I've bought a Uno and have some trouble getting it to work. When uploading a sample sketch to Duemilanove it works with no problem. When uploading a sample sketch to the uno, the rx/tx lights begin to flicker and then the Arduino IDE says:
avrdude: stk500_getsync(): not in sync: resp=0xf9
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

(Even tough the programmer must be doing something because RX/TX flickers)
It makes no difference when changing from /dev/tty.usbmodem1a21 to /dev/cu.usbmodem1a21. What am I doing wrong?
I'm using Mac OS X 10.6.6 and Arduino IDE 0022.
Thanks!

I have the same problem, with the UNO selected, the COM selection is in gray, as if not available under windows 7, any idea?  The TX/RX LEDs never flash, it's as if the PC has no clue there is something in the USB port...  Help!
