Hi all,
Will be ordering an ethernet shield without a specific application for it right now besides playing around.
Would the SD card slot be worth the extra money? I'm guessing I could always add an sd reader shield later on?
Or is that a different thing? I mean why is it on the ethernet shield?
Could anyone give me project examples of what that storage option might be used for ?
thanks

You could indeed add an SD card later with a breakout board or whatever. One example of why the SD card is a good match for the Ethernet shield is to provide storage for web pages if you're making an Arduino-based web server. Of course that's not every Ethernet project.
