Topic: Ethernet Sd and Pro Mini (Read 700 times) previous topic - next topic

Hey all,
Currently I have set up the Arduino pro Mini (3v) and the Ethernet SD shield and running the SDFatInfo code with a software reset for the Ethernet. I have been playing around with some different code and different settings trying to get it to work. Any body know why/what is going on.

Current setup:

Pin 9 digital reset pin
Pin 10's connected
Pin 4's connected

Code: [Select]

pinMode(WIZNET_RESET_PIN, OUTPUT);
digitalWrite(WIZNET_RESET_PIN, HIGH);
delay(50);
digitalWrite(WIZNET_RESET_PIN, LOW);
delay(50);
digitalWrite(WIZNET_RESET_PIN, HIGH);
delay(100);

pinMode(10, OUTPUT); // set the SS pin as an output (necessary!)
  digitalWrite(10, HIGH); // but turn off the W5100 chip!
uint8_t r = card.init(SPI_HALF_SPEED, 4); // Use digital 4 as the SD SS line

Is there a  problem with the Pro mini clock speed and the Ethernet shield ...

Serial output I recive
Code: [Select]
type any character to start

card.init failed
SD error
errorCode: 1
errorData: 0

type any character to start

Thanks all
Did you connect the SPI pins: 11, 12, and 13?

Is that the Arduino Mega compatible board that runs the SPI signals through the ICSP header?

I did not conect the pins to the icsp header but I did connect pins 11,12,13 together. And yes that is the board I am using.

I think the SPI pins of the Ethernet and SD slot connect only through the ICSP pins (to keep the Mega's 11-13 free for other uses).  Try connecting there.  You'll have to look up the ICSP pinout.
