I have one of these and tried the LCD hello world sketch but nothing appeared on the lcd
Is this device a compatible display with this script?

Yes it looks a dead ringer for a standard LCD display. Perhaps the is an error in the wiring.

It should work if you do everything correctly. Try following the tutorial at
http://www.ladyada.net/learn/lcd/charlcd.html
. Don't skip any steps and don't proceed to the 'Bus Wiring' section if you don't get the single row of blocks (two rows in your case) about midway through the tutorial.

Thanks, It's not the pot is the top bus rail on my plugblox (or what ever there called)
The top 2 rails don't run the whole way
Just need some more plug wires for the com lines.

Bit of putting finding that out (thought the display was duff)
