I have one of these and tried the LCD hello world sketch but nothing appeared on the lcd

Is this device a compatible display with this script?

Yes it looks a dead ringer for a standard LCD display. Perhaps the is an error in the wiring.

It should work if you do everything correctly.  Try following the tutorial at http://www.ladyada.net/learn/lcd/charlcd.html.  Don't skip any steps and don't proceed to the 'Bus Wiring' section if you don't get the single row of blocks (two rows in your case) about midway through the tutorial.

The top 2 rails don't run the whole way  :smiley-eek: :smiley-eek:
Just need some more plug wires for the com lines.

It's called a 'solderless breadboard'.

Bit of putting finding that out (thought the display was duff)

All sorted now and all working (for the first time since I got the thing)

Thanks all.
