As a soon to be dad, I've proposed myself to build a toy for my first baby.
Beeing Arduino my newest hobby, I'm trying to make somthing including it.
So the first idea was something like this baby gyms, where different stuffed figures hang, and some of them even ply music.
So I figured that I can put touch or vibration sensors into this figures, and use the Arduino to play different sounds or melodies. I even bought some APR9600 ic to play short recorded sounds or messages.
Has anyone played with similar ideas?

I did a project not exactly like you are suggesting, but it does show you how to make sound triggered by a sensor.
I used a Wave shield from Adafruit and Sharp distance sensor.
I put this inside a toy sheep and used it as a sort of doorbell that makes sheep sounds.
