hi
just a little update on Freeduino's progress. The great news is that several Freeduino-branded products are now available!
And wow, these designs are
really open-source, as they:
- include all the files available,
- allow you to use the designs for whatever purpose you like, including commercial use, and
- give you a free license to use the increasingly identifiable name 'Freeduino'.
Maybe that should be the Freeduino motto: "all the files and the name, for whatever purpose, free"!
Freeduino ProductsThe Wulfden Shoppe "For more information on the Arduino project, the Freeduino movement within the Arduino world, go to the
Freeduino Universe web page."
Modern Device"The Bare Bones Board is an Arduino-compatible board (Freeduino) that implements the vast majority of the functionality of the Arduino Diecimila with the exception that the USB chip has been removed to a cable."
NKC Electronics "Freeduino related products, like PCBs, kits, atmega8, atmega168, shield board... Freeduino is an collaborative open-source project to replicate and publish a completely open version of the Arduino"
New Freeduino PCB designsThe ad-hoc group of International Freeduino developers (Germany/USA/Canada!) has also released three
initial PCB routes, available through
the Freeduino pcb page here.
Freeduino through-hole version: NKC electronics is
selling this Freeduino-branded through hole kit. It is Diecimila compatible board, derived from the original Arduino 2.1 USB design. Eagle and gerber files are available at the PCB page above.
Freeduino SMT Versions: Westfw has generously contributed two routes, a 0603 and 1206 version. See the
Freeduino PCB page above.
Barebones Ardino aka Freeduino Paul Badger at Modern device has posted the files for the Barebones Ard/Freeduino.
