Following Massimo's lead, I started off by thanking all who reported spam and forum abuse personally by email, but the sheer volume of reports coming in mean it is getting more difficult to achieve this.
I try to get onto spam as quickly as possible (though I do need the occasional break for work and sleep), so responding may not always be a priority.
So, I'd like to just say thanks to all who have reported stuff* (you know who you are), keep it coming and please keep up the good work, and let's keep this place spam-free.
* And particularly to the rather inept but helpful spammer who put his link in the "Report to moderator" box, thereby ensuring it didn't appear on the forum
