Hello.I want to make a simple remote control app for my computer for that i just bought a TSOP1138 infrared reciver and i want to connect it to the board. Can you please tell me what resistor should i use here is the data sheet sorry i am a n00b in electornics.

No resistor required. The device has three pins, power input goes to arduino +5vdc pin, ground goes to arduino ground pin, signal pin wires to a arduino digital input pin.

Just connected it to my arduino  i connected it to pin 7 when i make a digitalread on that port i get always 1 why is that ??

It will send data to the arduino when there are valid IR commands being sent to the receiver from a IR remote control. Then you need to use a proper software library to read the signal and convert to the button value being sent by the IR remote control transmitter. What are your expectation of what this device can do?

I thought the value is 1 when i recive input and 0 otherwise

See figure 3 of the datasheet for output signal response to a valid IR remote control signal. The device only responds to valid 38khz modulated IR data stream, it is not a on and off type of device.

I just bought one of these tsop1138. How does one know the frequency of a transmitter.
