 Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

Hi,

after testing the Hello World from the examples of the LiquidCrystal Library for many hours my Duemilanovedoes not work any longer. When I try to upload something there is a message

avrdude: verification error, first mismatch at byte 0x0000
         0x0c != 0x00
avrdude: verification error; content mismatch

The RESET switch did not help.
What can I do?

Disconnect everything from the board except the USB cable and try again.

Are you certain the correct board is selected?

It is the correct board. After first uploading it worked correctly. Then I disconnected the USB-connection and connected to battery. It worked for several hours. When the battery was weak I connected to a new one an got the the error message.

Does the board pass or fail a loop-back test...

It passes the test.
When I compared with a second board I realised, that TX-LED is permanent ON while is is OFF after uploading at the working board.

Immediately after clicking the reset button, is the TX LED on solid?
