I finally bought all the parts and got all the kinks out of my Robotic Arm.

This is where I need your help, I've spent a lot of time on this and would like to go further with.  I need ideas on what to do with it next and how to improve it.  Any suggestions or comments are much appreciated!

I like the idea of the mechanical components that you can just buy off the shelf.

My first thought would be to tidy up and simplify as much as possible your wiring.
Makes it easier to fix when anything breaks and easier to modify.

How about the ability to memorise movements and replay the sequence?

Have you seen the robotic arm clock?



See if you can get it to write letters and words on paper with a pen.  If that's too easy, see if you can get it to do handwriting!

Have it hold a Dremel (or other high-speed) tool and carve something.

Put sensors on it so it can track an object and then make it into a desk lamp that always shines the light on what you're working on.  That would need to be LED light so you could control the LEDs with your Arduino, of course!

What about elevensies? Luncheon? Afternoon tea? Dinner? Supper?


Before you do anything, you should really read up on Inverse Kinematics! It'll make your life so much easier when it comes to programming. E.g. you can say x=3 y=2 z = 1 in relation to the base and it'll move to there.


Looks a tad confusing but pretty simple after a while.
