I would like to suggest an improvement to the following page:http://arduino.cc/en/Reference/AnalogReference
The improvement references the problem that was discussed in this past thread:
strange changing analog Reference behaviourhttp://www.arduino.cc/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1292425368
As a result of that thread, the following was added as a note to the page:
"After changing the analog reference, the first few readings from analogRead() may not be accurate."
This is fairly vague, and not actually accurate. The project I'm currently working on has to continually switch the analog reference to read two different sensors, so I did a little playing around with it.
I think the current note should be replaced with something like this:
"After changing the analog reference, the first return from analogRead() will be inaccurate. It is recommended to call analogRead() once after switching so that the reference can settle and the data returned will be accurate."
