Here's a new project I just finished. It's a giant Ambilight-style LED system for backlighting a 58" plasma TV. I'm running Linux and using boblightd and boblight-X11 to send the color information to an Arduino Uno. There are 18 independent zones, each with a Satellite S-001 module, controlled by OctoBars. You know your typical ultrabright 20mA LED? Blinding to look into directly? This is the same light output as 900 of those. http://macetech.com/blog/node/113

I've seen other versions of this at a much less scale and effect of course. You did a great job!

Now, the annoying thing is the black edge of the TV. Wish it were not there.  smiley-yell

I thought ambilight was to compensate for LCD's not having a true black.. Not really an issue with Plasma.. Good project though.
