Ok, I am placing an order for thru hole Duemilanove style ATMega324/644/1284 based PCBs.
Any takers besides JoeO?
I'll have them to mail out in about 3 weeks when they come in from Iteadstudios.
Board will have all the features of the uC you populate it with. I prefer the ATMega1284P, with 4K EEPROM, 16K SRAM, 128K Flash memory, dual hardware serial ports, I2C, SPI, etc.
All the boards will have:
> 32 IO pins,
> new & old shield compatibility with a couple of jumpers to allow A4/A4 or SDA/SCL to connect at the D18/D19 pins,
> SPI in the 'normal' place.
> SDA/SCL are in place for the new shield layout,
> latest style expanded power header,
> expanded Analog port header with 2 more pins and Port C, which is also the JTAG pins, brought out to a header the I2C pins connected there as well.
> ICSP header for downloading a bootloader.
> Jumper field to select reverse polarity protected 5V regulator, or polyfuse protected USB power, or neither if 5V power is brought in from the power header.
> Seperate 3.3V regulated power.
> Jumper field to disconnect DTR from the reset line.
And the neat part - a header to connect a USB/Serial adapter such as an FTDI Basic, or you can install this new module I found at Mouser that is FTDI based USB/Serial adapter also:
http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/mikroElektronika/MIKROE-483/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMuNcqZxhMNT3znYT0k8AsjHMouser also has the best prices on '1284 chips, $5.82 each, $5.64 each for 10.
http://www.mouser.com/ProductDetail/Atmel/ATMEGA1284P-PU/?qs=sGAEpiMZZMtVoztFdqDXO3QpeG9FlGm9All other parts are common headers, 16 MHz xtal, 22 pf caps, 3mm LEDs, common resistors, tactile switch.
Board should assemble very easily and program nicely with Optiload and maniacbug's 1.0 files for 1284.
Cost: $4.50 to US locations plus $3.50 each additional board to US locations.
$5.50 plus $3.50 each additional board to overseas locations.
This is pretty much the cost of the boards plus shipping, and the good graces of my wife to package, label, and drop off at the post office for me.
JoeO, I'll give you a seperate price for the 10 boards since we should just be able to re-label the package from China & send out.
I'm placing the order after work tomorrow, gonna order at least 20, will make it 30 or 40 if there is interest.
I'll also post a BOM also with suggested part numbers while we wait for cards.
