hey why dont you just utilise a BlueSmirf or a USB Host shield , with a USB Host shield the cost will come too less and also its readily available, it you are can go for Arduino Mini then get the mini USB host shield with a Blue Dongle THE COST = MINI + 20 USD + 5-10 USD for dongle , definitely less than 50 USD.
