Hi,

i created a poorman's led matrix of 4x4 with only one shift register (74HC4094) and 16 led's smiley

only 3 wires to the arduino for full 16 led control

It can also display some 4x4 font's i created with a little program i also made - you can find more info on my blog entry.

That's pretty cool, although I admit that without those captions I would not be able to read the letters. Do you want to go ahead and make a bigger one?

I based my fonts on this:

http://cooltext.com/Download-Font-Pixel+4x4

It was the only 4x4 font example i could find, too bad 4x4 can't make all letters really readable tho, 8x8 would be better.

I probably will create a bigger one (8x8) when i received all my parts (more shifters etc..)
