 Bigger Bigger Smaller Smaller Reset Reset

I am new and got this error. I would like to see if anybody has come across the similar
error and is there a remedy. Thank you.

Kiet

===============================================================================
I downloaded and installed Arduino from 'git clone ...' command.
My development host is Windows 7, 64 bit.

When I used arduino.exe trying to compile sketch Accessory
Development Kit Demokit.ino from Google, I got the following error:

c:\path\to\Arduino\build\windows\work\hardware\tools\avr\bin\avr-g++ -c -g -Os -Wall -fno-exceptions -ffunction-sections -fdata-sections -mmcu=atmega2560 -DF_CPU=16000000L -MMD -DARDUINO=100 -I path\to\Arduino\build\windows\work\hardware\arduino <clip a few more -I cmd options ...> demokit.cpp -o demokit.o

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
c:\path\to\Arduino\build\windows\work\hardware\tools\avr\avr-g++ returned 3.

I then simplified the code down to main.cpp with only the following function:
int main () { return 0; }

And the compiling command line to be just the following:

> c:\path\to\Arduino\build\windows\work\hardware\tools\avr\bin\avr-g++ main.cpp

This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.
c:\path\to\Arduino\build\windows\work\hardware\tools\avr\avr-g++ returned 3.
