Topic: Using half each of two L293D's for steppers motors (Read 484 times) previous topic - next topic

Hi all,

Is there any reason I shouldn't use two halves of an L293D for one bipolar stepper and the remaining halves for another (same motor).

I'm having a heck of a time routing with eagle when connecting one motor to each chip because of the pin mapping, so i think it would be easier this way but am unsure if i can do this. I'm guessing i can, as i could run 4 2 phase motors off of two chips independently but just wanted to make sure.
