Hello,

I just buy an arduino uno and last week, I I did an error ... I put 5V in the 5V out pin ...(maybe a little bit more, when I put my multimetter on the source it was 10v but there was nothing plug)

Now I can't upload anymore my program in my arduino, it says:
Binary sketch size: 836 bytes (of a 14336 byte maximum)
avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

What do you think ? dit I burn my arduino Uno (it's a SMD edition I can't just change the atmel chip  :(    ...  )

PS: I can re-write the bootloader with the dfu-programmer and it work great
PPS: Led on in on
PPS: when I reset arduino L (pin 13) led blink during shorltly
PPPS: Sorry for my english ... I'm french  :~

I think you burned the USB chip. So, unless you want to program that board using an ISP programmer, you can't use it.

OK, I buy a FTDI Basic Breakout - 5V last week for my arduino pro mini, so maybe I can programm my arduino uno with it ?

But I've another question why can I write the bootloader if the USB ship is burned ?

Sorry, I tought the dfu programmer was not USB based. Anyway, using the FTDI board is surely worth a try.
