Using the VGA Shield (http://www.strichlabs.com/pages/vga-shield) you can display 800x480 on a VGA screen.

Any VGA-capable monitor.

Perhaps you can find a used VGA monitor for under $20.  (The VGA Shield will cost another $80.)
