If properly sized, wired with correct gauge wire
This applies to transistors and relays too.
properly heatsinked, and with the typical series gate resistor and gate to source pull-down resistor
This applies to transistors too except the difference in naming.
, and if the user has experience with construction and packaging such circuits a power mosfet can be a good solution.
Not too much different then working with a transistor.
Not sure it's a better and cheaper solution then that inexpensive automotive relay, but it's always nice to have options.
Lefty
Mosfets seem to be cooler and smaller for the same current.
Also transistors and mosfets are faster and quieter then relays which may or may not be a concern.
