Hi all,

I've done up a self sustainable Arduino board, harnessing solar energy and using a 9V battery. The complete tutorial can be found here:

Wouldnt that schema be bad for the battery? Well not particularly good for it at least?

What would be truly awesome is if the Arduino detected if solar was powering it or not.
You could then utilize sleep modes effectively.

[EDIT] Oh wait its *supposed* to be bad for the battery. Its charging it. ;D
Some protective circuitry would help anyway.

By protective circuitry, would you mean something to prevent overcharging it?
