What is the objection to connecting the GPS to the hardware serial port?

No objection at all!
For now I am tinkering with the GPS to see how I can use it. As I do not have any LCD or display available, the only way to see if it works with my Arduino Uno is to output data to the PC via the serial Port.
Now I know for sure that if I need to connect a GPS via a serial port I'll use hardware serial port :D

any of you map what that J1 pins are?

I will use the PCB alone to embed and I'd like to solder wires directly to get GND, 5V and TX.
