Recommendation for pci-e connector

I am pretty sure I read that the Pci-e connector is just a connector and is not desiged for actual pci-e traffic. Did you folks have a right angle data connector in mind to bridge this to a base board?

hi, actually the mini PCIe connector is designed to be fitted in a mini PCIe slot as pinout is compatible with that. since mini PCIe has several pinout options and since we don't have PCIe transceivers we are compatible with the USB configuration so if you plug the board your host will see SAM D21 USB and you won't have much use of the FPGA pins.
if you want to use FPGA pins on that connector you can use the standard mini PCIe connector and create your own board or wait for some "shields"/breakout boards from our side

If I use this board for a specific project I have in mind, I will want all free I/O routed to a base board which I will design.

I have been poking around on the web to find best method to do that while still letting me remove the vidor from the base board.

At this point the best I have come up with is some kind of pic-e extension cable, female to ? Pre made ones seem to be overly long.

Exporting all pins is not easy as mini PCIe insertion makes mkr header insertion a bit hard. For mini PCIe you can look for adapters like these: https://www.amazon.com/Express-Extender-Extension-Cable-Powerful/dp/B00T2FP7X4
Actually if cable length does not fit your needs you can replace it with a shorter one. You should find them on digikey or other stores...
