Opportunity to teach Arduino in a music context at University level

Dear colleagues,

We are looking for a visiting lecturer to teach one of our third-year classes on our module Sensor Technology this coming autumn.

The current course details are outlined here:

As you can see from the course details on the above website, you are expected to run a course using the Arduino, principally in a music music/installation context. This will mean using the Arduino in conjunction with both the MaxMSP and SuperCollider audio environments to complete tasks and create music, interfaces and/or art pieces. You'll need to know MaxMSP and SuperCollider reasonably well.

The classes are three hours per week during semester time, currently scheduled from 10-11am and 12-2pm each Monday from 19th September to 5th December(12 weeks in total). It may be possible to arrange a different delivery day and time to suit a suitable candidate's availability.

Applicants must have proven experience of HE level teaching and relevant experience in music technology. Please send a brief covering letter and CV to richard.hoadley@anglia.ac.uk in the first instance. The closing date for applications is Friday 29 July 2011. Applicants may be invited for an informal interview.

Remuneration is at the standard Anglia Ruskin University rate for Hourly-Paid Lecturers, currently £38.50 per hour (to include preparation and assessment).

Further information about the department and our BA (Hons) Creative Music Technology degree can be found at: www.anglia.ac.uk/mpa

Kind regards

Richard
