motor shield help

i am trying to build my own robot from scratch i picked up a motor shield from radio shack
and was wondering has any one worked with seeed studio motor shield before. how do i go about useing
this with arduino. what do i all need to know?

thanks in advance.

Hi,
do we talk about this shield?

Its a standard L293N motordriver board with clever extras. You can power the arduino from the onboard 5V regulator plus you have lots of unused pins for extra sensors.
Only thing is: the motors should be capable of 6-15V.

I have the Seeed motor shield. There is no way of connecting anything but motors and sensors to it. I have the Maker Shield and I can't plug it on top of the seeed motor shield. If I plug the motor shield on top of the Maker Shield, how can I connect wires to the black headers?
