I broke the IDE install process.

OK...so I bought a 4D systems 4duino. I wanted to get it working with the hello world program.

Ran into the well known linker plugin problem. While trying to solve it I made the really bad decision to delete the Arduino IDE directory.

Now I can't get any version of Arduino IDE to install. They all tell be that I already have 1.8 installed when I can assure it I do not.

How do I clean out whatever is blocking me so I can start over.

Yes, I know it was stupid and incompetent. So will you help me?

Michael Harpe

Try these instructions...

CLEAN UP BEFORE INSTALLING ANOTHER COPY OF THE IDE OR ARDUINO CREATE.pdf (345 KB)

The first step did it. Thank you. I've made a note of that.

The problem with the linker plugin is gone as well.

Thank you for the help.

Michael
