Arduino NANO is not working with batteries only with USB. HELP

Hello, I have a problem with my arduino nano. It does not work with batteries only works when connected by USB. connect pin 29 (GND) and 30 (VIN 5v). But still it does not work. please help.

You need something at least 7V to put into VIN. 5V is too little.
What kind of and how many batteries are you using?

If your battery is able to deliver 5V (and not more), you might use the +5V pin.
But this bypasses any power protection of your Nano and is not recommended generally.

Have you checked the output voltage of your battery?
