I am Arka Roy from Kolkata. New here, but geeky enough. Very rudimentary knowledge about Arduinos.
I wanted to start a new project to develop an Arduino based location transmitter which sends a predetermined text message to a phone number.
I don't know where to start and how to get it going. No idea which shield to use, no idea how to use. Neither do I have any idea on the coding part as well. THIS IS MY FIRST EVER PROJECT ON ARDUINO.

The best way would be to use Arduino UNO, GSM Module & GPS Module. You can get the location coordinates from GPS Module and then can send it to your mobile via GSM Module. That would be a start for you. Share more details.
