usb mini jumper?

im making a board layout for a usbmini (i want to assemble them here to cut costs) and i thought it made more sense to put a single jumper that would connect the USB 5V to VCC and then have VCC tie to VCCIO. that way the chip is always running from 5V and the IO is always the same as VCC.
this version also uses 1206's which is easier for me.

What is the jumper for on the original Mini USB? Only to turn off the LEDs?

no, as far as i can tell, its to change the power input (ie. vcc not vccio)
