Can't upload my programs to the Arduino board

Hi all,
I have problem uploading my programs to my Arduino UNO board. The operate systems in my computer is Windows 8.
Every time when I try to upload the code to Arduino, the error message goes like:

Does anyone know what causes the problem? How can I fix it? How I can prevent it from happening?

Are you making sure that the correct board and COM Port are selected under tools?

I am pretty sure that right COM port and the board is selected. I have attached the screenshot for your review.

Do you have another USB cable you can try?
