master mode configuration problem

Hi, everyone i am using a Bluetooth module HC-05 G-040 version 3.0 in master mode but unfortunately i am unable to convert it in to master mode, when ever i try to change its role it shows no response. i mean i am not getting an Ok message after AT+ROLE=1 ,, i have tried almost everything to change it in to master mode but its not working,, please provide some help if i am missing anything ,,

What have you tried to get master mode? IIRC you need to hold a state line high while powering on the module to put it in command mode to start issuing AT commands.

Post links to the exact module your using.

Another possibility is the module is really an HC-06 and not an HC-05 and does not contain firmware to allow master mode.
