SMD 5050 5M LED Problem

Hello everyone,

I have a problem I was hoping someone in this forum could help me out with. I have searched online for weeks but could not find the correct answer anywhere!

I purchased a 5m strip and when connecting to power supply the light at the end of the 5m is not as bright as the beginning. As though power is lost. What could be the cause of this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I have the following:
5m rgb smd 5050 LEDs (300 leds total) (12v 1.2amp/m)
1 24 IR Remote
1 12v 7amp power supply

Here are the links to what I have purchased:

no clue.. (sorry)

maybe meter the power supply check out put..

then inspect strip to see if resistors are all the same..etc

the 5050 LEDS actually have '3' smd leds under the same 'dome'.. maybe a broken solder point and not all are on?

As though power is lost. What could be the cause of this?

Probably just a faulty strip.

Or voltage loss down the internal power conductor.
If you connect 12V/Gnd to both ends with separate wires, does it get your brightness back?
