ATmega16u2 DFU

Hello everybody,

I've just bought two Arduino UNO SMD R3.
One of them has been properly recognized by my PC and drivers has been properly installed. But the other one is not recognized as an "Arduino UNO board", but as "ATmega16u2 DFU" when I plug it on USB port. In this way drivers contaided on "drivers" folder doesn't work.
Any idea?

ATmega16u2 DFU indicates that board was not properly programmed with firmware at the factory.

I would suggest you get a replacement.

Otherwise you could go through the process of programming the proper firmware on the 16u2 and probably the 328.
