Unable to upload to arduino

Hi Everyone, I'm completely new to ardunio having been asked to use the technology for a university architecture degree project. I've tried uploading several sketches but an error keeps appearing with the following message. Can anyone advise and help?

Arduino: 1.8.7 (Windows Store 1.8.15.0) (Windows 10), Board: "Arduino/Genuino Uno"

Sketch uses 930 bytes (2%) of program storage space. Maximum is 32256 bytes.
Global variables use 9 bytes (0%) of dynamic memory, leaving 2039 bytes for local variables. Maximum is 2048 bytes.

This report would have more information with
"Show verbose output during compilation"
option enabled in File -> Preferences.

Have you tried the full IDE and not the windows store "app".
Some have difficulty with that version.
