MPU6050 free fall detection etc.

Hey everyone I'm new in this forum and i have some questions about mpu6050 my questions are;

•How to use Kalman Filter with mpu6050

•How to detect free fall

•How to detect accident

Can you help me about the answers btw I pretty muck know the second question but i asked anyway

  1. Feed the rotational rates and acceleration values into the Kalman filter
  2. Total measured acceleration is approximately zero
  3. Total measured acceleration is greater than some limit

Alternate idea - use a sensor with more built-in smarts like the STMicro LSM6DS3, it has free-fall detection, bump-wake up and other smart features that can easily be detected with the interrupt pin or by reading status bits.

Are you sure you need a Kalman filter? I've used the MPU-6050 in projects needing to know the dynamic tilt angle and a Kalman filter wasn't needed.
