Powering Servo with Arduino 5v or not ?

Hi everybody,

I have a problem. I am remote controlling a servo motor with 2 arduino and 2 nrf24l01 + antenna.
The signal is good but the arduino with the servo motor is a bit hot, maybe between 40 to 60°c.
I am a bit afraid because I don't want anyproblem like burning or hurting the arduino.

So my question is :

Is this ok to power this servo motor with the 5v pin of an arduino which is powered by this ?

I am quite a newbie for powering issues.

Thank you.

NO! That big digital servo needs lots of current and will be seriously overloading the onboard voltage regulator.

Power the servo with a separate supply, either 5V @ at least 2A or a battery, something like 4 x AA (I prefer NiMH rechargeables).

Ok Thank you ! Is there any device I could use so I have not to refill the battery ? electrical outlet ?

A power supply similar to your 12V 1.5A one but which can instead provide 5V at 3A would work.
